We've all seen how Mahrez's form have dropped the last games. Looked a bit on GW14-17 vs GW18-21, ie 4 recents vs 4 before there. Sure, the period biases the result abit GW14-17 MUN swa CHE eve Goals 6 (2 pens), Assists 1, Attempts 11 (in box 9), SoT 10, through balls 3, chances created 3 GW 18-21 liv MCI BOU tot Goals 0, Assists 0, Attempts 6 (in box 3), SoT 2, through balls 2, chances created 6 Fixtures coming up: avl STO LIV mci ars NOR Mahrez is now 7.2, I got him at 5.7 so I have a boat of value in him. Top10k ownership at like 100%, overall 66% If you guys know xG as well, expected goals, Mahrez is ranked second there. sort of a returns imminent docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1daolRW_5ZVTgfg8HedD9fWUjP9odl_zFVHCwa0V8xUM/edit#gid=1575427859 Ofc there are other factors at play here, meeting CHE just before Jose got fired, same shakiness with the SWA etc. All in all, a terrible drop in form. Getting rid on a WC or to fund Payet isn't pants on head retarded

Nice analysis. I do not need to move him now, so I won't, but this is helpful to know.
I get that your point is that getting rid is a reasonable thing to do, not necessarily something everyone SHOULD do. But am I reading you right that one interpretation is that he is just in a dry patch and could explode into life any time (like Aguero and Sanchez did earlier in the season)?

Something like that. Look to me the dry patch is more supported by tougher fixtures, as opposed to failing to convert underlying stats.
I donno if it's like the other managers are have figured out Ranieiri's counter attack style or something. And Leicester aren't getting enough space or something tactical. But after the Villa game there are a couple of tough fixtures, and after that it looks better.
I recon the Villa game is a litmus test if it's worth keeping him for gw27 NOR and onwards. Maybe DGW mindssets render all this thought fiddling moot

Good stuff Sj. My defense is too rubbish and my premium goalkeeper too much of a liability to think about transferring Mahrez just yet, but it definitely food for thought.
